In another landmark seizure in May 2019 DRI in coordination with Indian Coast Guard seized a total of 217.8 Kgs of Heroin from a fishing vessel off the Gujarat Coast. The seizure involved a daring mid-sea
operation and chase involving two high- speed boats and an aircraft of the Indian Coast Guard. Six Pakistani nationals were arrested by DRI.

DRI has continued its sustained efforts by effecting seizures of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in 2019-20.
A total of 72 seizures of substances covered under NDPS Act were done across India.
